This vintage 9ct gold clasp features a lustrous yellow gold heart-shaped padlock. The front showcases intricate floral engraving with elegant foliate scroll patterns, centred around a decorative, non-functional blackened keyhole motif that symbolises security and devotion. At the top is a curved shackle with a small protruding lever on the left-hand side, which is pressed to spring open and securely lock the hinged clasp mechanism into place. The reverse has a smooth, polished finish displaying the original hallmarks.
A delightful and versatile clasp, it is commonly used to securely fasten a curb link bracelet or can be worn as a pendant or styled with other bracelets and jewellery pieces.
