Cut with quality – our show-stopping Fantasy Cut Blue Topaz & Diamond Ring

Cut with quality – our show-stopping Fantasy Cut Blue Topaz & Diamond Ring

We’re delighted to reveal the latest piece to hit the shop floor from our in-house workshop, our Fantasy Cut Blue Topaz and Diamond Ring.

Designed by Warrenders, this exquisite one-of-a-kind ring features a 19.75ct electric blue topaz cut by the award-winning Lapidary John Dyer, globally renowned for his artistic flair and passion for extraordinary precision cut gems. As a master gemstone cutter John excels in choosing the right cut to exhibit the beauty of each gemstone. John designed a Fantasy Cut for this particular topaz, cutting the facets with maximum optical effect to draw the eye into the stone, enhance the vibrant blue colour and give it a life of its own.

When we showed John the finished show-stopping piece he commented, “That is a lovely and classy piece which showcases our gem to its best advantage!” Framed within diamond set split shoulders, the breathtaking gemstone has an open gallery setting that allows the light to pass through the topaz and enhance its light from every angle.

Just in time for Christmas, this new one-of-a-kind ring is available to buy now for £5,750 from our Sutton store, contact us on 020 8643 4381 for more information.

Remembering the Great War

Remembering the Great War

The 11th of November 2018 marks 100 years since the end of the First World War. To honour this significant anniversary and remember those who fought and the many who died, we have collected a range of vintage jewellery created and given to loved ones during that time.

Fine jewellery is special in the way that it is often passed from generation to generation, loved and worn, usually surviving its wearer. This is never more poignant than during the war where so many were taken before their time. From a keepsake photo locket to a silver and snakeskin hip flask, these are some of the pieces treasured by those who endured so much.

Vintage 9ct Gold Photo Locket - £195.00

Double sided lockets were popular during the Edwardian period; traditionally people would enclose photographs of loved ones to keep them close at all times. This vintage photo locket was created in 1911.

Antique 9ct Gold Pearl Ring - £65.00

Set with a single natural pearl this 9ct gold dress ring was made in Birmingham in 1918. The ring is more understated in design than many rings of that era, which may be a reflection of the fact it was created towards the end of the Great War.

Antique Silver Hipflask - £375.00

This beautiful silver and glass hipflask was created in Sheffield in 1915 in the midst of the war. The antique flask also features a protective snake skin layer over the glass.

Vintage Mourning Brooch - £465.00

Mourning jewellery is one of the oldest known forms of jewellery. It reached its peak in popularity following the death of Prince Albert in 1861 when Queen Victoria wore a black enamel and gold mourning ring featuring his image. It became customary for a widow to wear an item of mourning jewellery after the loss of her husband. This carved agate mourning brooch surrounded by natural pearl and enamel scrolled edging was created around the time of the First World War.

Here at Warrenders we have a vast selection of vintage jewellery spanning many styles and eras. Please click here to see our full collection.

Warrenders nominated for Retail Jeweller’s 100 Inspiring Independents

Warrenders nominated for Retail Jeweller’s 100 Inspiring Independents

We were very honoured to be nominated and invited to attend Retail Jeweller’s 100 Inspiring Independents awards on 4th October.
Nominated by industry peers and judged by a panel of Jewellery suppliers and manufacturers. We were very proud to be on the list for the first time and enjoyed being part of the awards ceremony.

Held in association with the Company of Master Jewellers (CMJ), we had the opportunity to network with many of the other nominees at the lunchtime event. It was fantastic to see so many independent jewellers together celebrating the very best of our industry.
We look forward to being involved in next year’s event.

My Warrenders Winner

My Warrenders Winner

We are delighted to announce that the winner of our #mywarrenders social media competition is the lovely Francesca Todd!

Francesca has been a loyal Warrenders customer for many years and often pops in to our Sutton jewellery store for a chat and to browse our latest collections.

The winning picture was of Francesca’s beautiful 25th wedding anniversary ring which was created by us from an old gold wedding band which belonged to her mother in law. Our onsite goldsmith reworked the ring creating a slimmer gold band which was then hand engraved and set with diamonds.

Francesca shared her stunning sparkle on social media along with other Warrenders’ customers as part of a new competition we launched earlier in the year. The winner was selected at random and Francesca came in to see us last week to collect her prize of a delicate silver pendant.

Huge congratulations to Francesca! We look forward to seeing her again soon, hopefully wearing her brand new Warrenders jewellery.
